Launch Drivers: Hempstead Harbour Club, located in Glen Cove, NY, is seeking Launch Operators/ Stewards for the 2020 boating season. The season runs from mid-May to mid-October. Stewards are responsible for safely transporting club members and their guests to and from the floating docks as well as general maintenance of the club property. Stewards report directly to Club Manager, Mr. Jim Kowchefski.
| Launch Operators must be 18 years old at the time of licensing. 17-year-olds may qualify as launch operator interns / groundskeepers (an opportunity to learn about launch operations under supervision). |
Qualifications:
- *Valid and current USCG License or willing to complete licensing process*
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays
- Initiate club opening and closing procedures including “Colors”
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a positive attitude and be a team member
- Be courteous, gracious and helpful to members and guests
- Provide docking assistance
- Be proactive and anticipate members’ needs
- Be able to regularly sit, stand and walk for extended periods
- Be able to reach, climb, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 50 pounds

- *Upon licensing, reimbursement for: Sea School $275; USCG License and application $190; TWIC $125; Drug testing and CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification provided at HHC.
- *Sea School must be completed by June 1, 2018. Be sure to register early as classes fill early.
