Founded in 1891, the Hempstead Harbour Club is an historic landmark and hidden gem on Long Island Sound. Tucked away at the end of Garvies Point Road in Glen Cove, Hempstead Harbour Club offers something for everyone: the avid sailor, the casual boater, water sports enthusiasts, and those just looking for the perfect sunset and good company. HHC is one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States and strives to preserve the traditions upon which it was founded.

The Club’s relaxed atmosphere, unique social events and competitive racing opportunities provide a rich and varied experience for adults and children alike. As a ‘hands-on’ Club, members gather for work days, host social events, organize regattas and serve on the Governing Board. A full time manager and dedicated staff ensure facilities are kept in Bristol condition.

HHC offers both individual and family memberships. It is not necessary to be a boat owner to join. The membership process includes a formal application, supporting letters and an interview with current members. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member of the Hempstead Harbour Club, please complete our Membership Inquiry form or contact our Membership Chair, David Goodsell.
